What is General Notary Work?

Many people aren’t sure what kind of notary act they need. We specialize in executing standard statutory notary acts quickly and strictly according to state law:

  • Acknowledgments: Verifying a signer’s identity and ensuring they are signing the document willingly (commonly used for deeds, contracts, and powers of attorney).

  • Jurats / Oaths & Affirmations: Compelling a signer to swear or affirm that the contents of a document are 100% true under penalty of perjury (commonly used for affidavits and depositions).

  • Copy Certifications: Verifying that a reproduction of an original document is a true, accurate, and complete copy (as permitted by state law).

Unsure What Kind of Notarization Your Document Needs?

How to Prepare For Your Appointment

To ensure a seamless, legally compliant signing, please have the following ready:

  1. Valid Government-Issued Photo ID: A current driver’s license, state ID card, or passport. The name on your ID must match the name on the document.

  2. Complete, Unsigned Documents: Do not sign or date the document before meeting. All documents must be filled out completely (except for the signatures) so the notary can verify the context.

  3. Know Your Document: A notary cannot explain legal terms, tell you what document to use, or advise you on how to fill it out.

  4. Bring Witnesses (If Required): If your specific document requires witnesses in addition to a notary, please ensure they are present and possess valid photo identification.
